Root Causes
of Truck Crashes |
Truck Accidents
The vast majority of truck crashes are preventable by either
the employee or management. More deaths occur from truck
crashes than from armored car robberies. There are key
questions that need to be asked of the carrier and confirmed
following each truck incident. There are business records that
when reviewed by an expert are telling and often explain a
deep rooted cause that will be overlooked by a person not
familiar with the industry. Following are a few examples of
such records.

Employee Related Injuries
While some work related injuries are caused by unsafe acts of
the employee and can be avoided many more are related to lack
of training, unsafe conditions such as, excess hours worked or
unsafe equipment. As with truck accidents there are business
records that must be requested and reviewed to determine if
there were adequate preventive measures in place to prevent
the injury. Following are a few examples of such records.
-
Training Records.
-
Equipment Records.
-
Financial Records.
-
Past Incidents.

Safety Programs.
Personnel actions are processed daily through a sound HR
Department. Unfortunately, there are illegal actions outside
the scope of carrier policy that are committed against the
drivers, guards, messengers, tellers, and other employees.
